内容提要：The film “In the Mood for Love” (2000) continued a long movie tradition of featuring the qipao dress as a romantic symbol of Chinese female culture. As the “power dress” of the 1930s, the qipao expressed the freedom and optimism that Chinese women felt after the Republic of China was established in 1912.
